هدف البحث إلى التعرف على مفهوم الذات وعلاقته ببعض المتغيرات الديموجرافية لدى عينة من المراهقين المعاقين بصريا. تكونت العينة من (108) طالب وطالبة بالمرحلتين الإعدادية والثانوية بمدرستي النور للمكفوفين بمحافظتي أسيوط وسوهاج، طبق عليهم مقياس مفهوم الذات للمراهقين المعاقين بصريا (إعداد سمير منصور، 2005). أسفرت النتائج عن وجود فروق دالة بين متوسطات درجات أفراد العينة على المقياس المستخدم تبعا لاختلاف متغيرات درجة الإعاقة، والنوع، والعمر الزمني، لصالح الإعاقة الجزئية، والذكور، والعمر الزمني 16-19 سنة على الترتيب، بينما أسفرت النتائج عن عدم وجود فروق دالة بين متوسطات درجات أفراد العينة على المقياس تبعا لاختلاف متغيرات المرحلة الدراسية، والنشأة، والترتيب الميلادي. نوقشت النتائج في ضوء التراث النظري والإمبريقي المتاح في هذا الموضوع، فضلا عن الخبرات والملاحظات والمشاهدات اليومية للباحثين. The aim of this study was to identify the self-concept and its relationship with some demographic variables in a sample of visually handicapped adolescents. The sample consisted of 108 students in the preparatory and secondary levels in the Noor schools for the blind in Asyut and Sohag governorates. The tool of the study was: The measure of self - concept for visually handicapped adolescents (prepared by Samir Mansour, 2005). The results revealed that there are significant differences between the mean scores of the sample on the self-concept scale for visually handicapped adolescents according to the variables disability degree, gender and age. In favor of partial disability, males and age 16-19 years respectively, while the results resulted in the absence of significant differences between the average scores of the sample members on the scale according to the variables of school stage, origin and the Gregorian order, and the results were discussed in light of the theoretical heritage as well as the experiences, observations and daily observations of researchers.
