تعتبر فئة الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة البصرية من أولى فئات الإعاقة التي تمكنت من الالتحاق بالسلك التعليمي الأساسي والجامعي في المملكة العربية السعودية، حيث تمكن العديد منهم من إكمال دراساتهم الجامعية والألتحاق بوظائف عديدة، وخصوصا التعليمية منها. لذلك، أتت هذه الدراسة بهدف معرفة أبرز التحديات التي تواجه الطلاب ذوي الإعاقة البصرية خلال دراستهم لمرحلة البكالوريوس في الجامعات السعودية، وتحديدا الدراسين منهم بجامعة الملك سعود. اعتمد الباحث المنهج النوعي (qualitative research) في هذه الدراسة، حيث شملت الدراسة إجراء مقابلات مع ثلاثة مجموعات تركيز (groups focus)، كل مجموعة احتوت على ما يقارب الخمسة طلاب، بما مجموعة 14 مشارك. بعد ذلك، تم تحليل بيانات الدراسة باستخدام برنامج MAXQDA. أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن هناك ثلاثة تحديات رئيسة تواجه الطلاب ذوي الإعاقة البصرية خلال مرحلة البكالوريوس بجامعة الملك سعود. تتمثل هذه التحديات في التالي: (1) التحديات الأكاديمية، (2) تحديات البنية التحتية للجامعة، (3) التحديات الإدارية. أخيرا، تم مناقشة النتائج وإضافة عدد من التوصيات بهدف تذليل جميع أنواع الصعوبات التي تواجه الطلاب ذوي الإعاقة البصرية خلال فترة دراستهم الجامعية. The category of people with visual impairment is considered one of the first categories of disability that was able to join the basic and university educational corps in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where many of them were able to complete their university studies and join many jobs, especially educational ones. Therefore, this study came with the aim of knowing the most important challenges facing students with visual disabilities during their undergraduate studies in Saudi Arabia, specifically those studying at King Saud University. The researcher adopted the qualitative research approach in the study, where the study included conducting interviews with three focus groups, each group contained approximately five students, in a total of 14 participants. After that, the study data was analyzed using MAXQDA software. The results of the study showed that there are three main challenges facing students with visual impairment during the undergraduate stage at King Saud University. These challenges are represented in the following: 1) academic challenges, 2) university infrastructure challenges, and 3) administrative challenges. Limitations and implications for future research and practice are discussed. (Published abstract)
