تعد مسؤولية إمام المسجد كبيرة في احتواء الأفراد والجماعات واحتضانهم وفتح باب الحوار معهم، فمسئوليته نابعة من أهمية الدور التربوي للمساجد في ترسيخ مفاهيم الوسطية والاعتدال وكذلك تفعيل دور المنابر في تفنيد مزاعم المتطرفين والجماعات الإرهابية، وكذلك التصدي لجميع الأفكار المنحرفة والمتطرفة وكشف زيفها وعوارها، وما يعتورها من الشبهات من خلال الدليل والبرهان القرآني والنبوي. وتتلخص مشكلة الدراسة في الإجابة عن السؤال: كيف يمكن تحقيق متطلبات المسئولية التربوية لإمام المسجد في تعزيز الوسطية بشكل فعال في ضوء التحديات المجتمعية المعاصرة؟ واستهدفت الدراسة التعرف على المسئولية التربوية لإمام المسجد في تعزيز الوسطية والاعتدال. والكشف عن معوقات المسئولية التربوية لأئمة المساجد في ضوء التحديات المعاصرة. وكذلك تقديم رؤية تربوية لمتطلبات المسئولية التربوية لأئمة المساجد في تعزيز الوسطية. واستخدمت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي، وأوصت الدراسة بضرورة تنويع الأساليب والوسائل التربوية الفعالة والمناسبة من أهم مقومات النجاح في مسئوليات إمام المسجد لتعزيز منهج الوسطية لدى أفراد المجتمع المسلم.
