هدفت الدراسة التعرف على مدى تمتع الأطفال الفلسطينيين بحقهم في النماء والتعليم وذلك وفق الاتفاقية الدولية لحقوق الطفل. تم استخدام المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، معتمدا على البيانات الصادرة عن الجهات المهتمة برعاية الأطفال وتعليمهم، وكذلك المؤسسات المهتمة بالدفاع عن حقوقهم، إضافة إلى البيانات الصادرة عن الجهاز المركزي للإحصاء الفلسطيني. تم التوصل إلى أن العبء الأكبر في تقديم الخدمات التعليمية يقع على عاتق وزارة التربية والتعليم، وأن هناك تراجعا في نسبة الأمية بين الأطفال وخصوصا الذكور منهم، وأن أعلى نسبة لتسرب الأطفال من المدارس يعود لأسباب تربوية، تليها الأسباب الاقتصادية والاجتماعية، كما بينت النتائج إلى أن نسبة التسرب بين الإناث أكبر منها بين الذكور نتيجة الخطوبة والزواج المبكران. The study aims to identify to what extend the Palestinian children benefited from their rights to development and education in accordance with international convention for the rights of the child. The study used the descriptive analytical approach, relying on the related data issued by the specialized professional identities and the child right’s defender organizations that are interested in child care and child education; in addition to the statistical reports of the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics. In conclusion, the study found that the greatest burden in providing educational services falls on the Ministry of Education; a decline in the illiteracy rate among children, especially males; the highest dropout rate among children is due to educational, economic and social reasons, and the dropout rate is larger among females, as a result of early engagement and marriage cases.
