هدف البحث إلى تعرف طبيعة الإشراف العلمي وأبعاده وأسسه النظرية والفكرية، ومن خلال المنهج الوصفي وإجراءاته تم رصد وتحليل واقع عملية الإشراف العلمي على رسائل الماجستير والدكتوراه بكليات التربية من منظور الدراسات السابقة في هذا المجال، وتحليل وثائقي للتشريعات واللوائح الداخلية المنظمة، ونتائج مقابلات شخصية مفتوحة/ غير مقننة تمت مع عينة من الطلاب الباحثين بمرحلتي الماجستير والدكتوراه من الهيئة المعاونة (مدرس مساعد، معيد) ومن خارجها بالدراسات العليا ببعض كليات التربية، وعلى ضوء الواقع توصل البحث إلى مجموعة من المقترحات لتطوير الإشراف العلمي بكليات التربية، من حيث معايير اختيار المشرفين وآليات وقواعد تشكيل لجان الإشراف العلمي بما يضمن حرية ورغبة الباحث في اختيار مشرفه والعكس، وتحديد أدوار ومسئوليات كلٍ من طرفي عملية الإشراف العلمي (الأستاذ المشرف/الطالب الباحث)، ووضع ضوابط وقواعد تنظم العلاقة الإشرافية بينهما، واقتراح بعض الأنشطة والبرامج التدريبية للتنمية المهنية لأعضاء هيئة التدريس في مجال الإشراف العلمي. This research aimed to identify the nature of scientific supervision; its dimensions and its theoretical and intellectual foundations. Through the descriptive approach and its procedures, the scientific supervising process of the master's and doctoral dissertations at faculties of education has been monitored and analyzed from the perspective of previous studies in this field. A documentary analysis of the internal legislations and regulations, open non-rationalized interviews with a sample of graduate and doctoral students from the supporting body (Assistant Lecturers, Demonstrators) and others in postgraduate studies at some faculties of education have been carried out. In light of this, the research reached a number of suggestions to develop the system of supervision at faculties of education, in terms of criteria for the selection of supervisors and the mechanisms and rules of the formation of scientific supervision committees to ensure the freedom and willingness of the researcher to choose the supervisor and vice versa, and determine the roles and responsibilities of each of the parties to the scientific supervision this also controls the rules governing the supervisory relationship and propose some activities and training programs for the professional development of faculty members in the field of scientific supervision.
