هدف البحث الحالي إلى التعرف على فعالية استخدام مدخل ستيم (STEAM) القائم على التكامل بين (العلوم والتكنولوجيا والهندسة والفنون والرياضيات) في تدريس الدراسات الإجتماعية لتنمية الحس التاريخي ومهارات التفكير البصري لدى طلاب الصف الثالث الإعدادي. وتم استخدم كلا من المنهج الوصفي وذلك للاستفادة من أدبيات البحث التربوي في مجال مدخل (STEAM) والحس التاريخي والتفكير البصري في صياغة الإطار النظري وإعداد أدوات البحث، وكذلك المنهج شبه التجريبي القائم على تقسيم عينة البحث المكونة من 102 طالباً إلى مجموعتين (تجريبية 51 طالباً وضابطة 51 طالباً). وقد أعدَّ مقياساً للحس التاريخي وآخر لمهارات التفكير البصري في الدراسات الإجتماعية. وقد أظهرت النتائج وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين أفراد المجموعتين الضابطة والتجريبية في الحس التاريخي ومهارات التفكير البصري لصالح المجموعة التجريبية. The study aimed to study the effect of the (STEAM) approach on teaching the social studies to develop the historical sense and optical thinking skills among third grade prep school students. It was used both descriptive approach in order to benefit from the literature of educational research in the field of (STEAM) approach, historical sense and optical thinking in the formulation of the theoretical framework and the preparation of research tools, as well as experimental approach based on the division of the research sample consisting of 102 students into two groups (experimental 51 students and officer 51 students) . The research prepared historical sense scale and another for optical thinking skills in social studies. The results showed a statistically significant difference between the members of the control and experimental groups in the historical sense and optical thinking skills for the experimental group.
