هدف البحث الحالي إلى التعرف على فاعلية تطبيق وحدة في العلوم متضمنة لأبعاد التعليم للتنمية المستدامة في تنمية مهارات التفكير المستدام والمسئولية البيئية لدى تلاميذ الصف الثاني الإعدادي، ولتحقيق هذا الهدف تمّ عإداد وحدة "الغلاف الجوى وحماية طبقات الأرض" للصف الثانى الإعدادى في ضوء أبعاد التعليم للتنمية المستدامة، كما تم بناء أدوات البحث، وهي عبارة عن اختبار مهارات التفكير المستدام، ومقياس المسئولية البيئية، وللتحقق من فاعلية الوحدة، تم اختيار مجموعة مكونة من 66 تلميذ من تلاميذ الصف الثاني الإعدادي، وتقسيمها إلى مجموعة تجريبية درست وحدة "الغلاف الجوي وحماية طبقات الأرض" للصف الثاني الإعدادي المقترحة في ضوء أبعاد التعليم للتنمية المستدامة، وأخرى ضابطة درست نفس الوحدة بدون إجراء تعديلات عليها، وتم تطبيق أدوات البحث قبل وبعد دراسة الوحدة، وأظهرت نتائج البحث وجود فرق دال إحصائياً بين متوسطي درجات تلاميذ المجموعة التجريبية والمجموعة الضابطة في التطبيق البعدي لأدوات البحث لصالح المجموعة التجريبية، وكذلك وجود فرق دال إحصائياً بين متوسطي درجات تلاميذ المجموعة التجريبية في التطبيقين القبلي والبعدي لأدوات البحث لصالح التطبيق البعدي، وهذا يدل على فاعلية تطبيق الوحدة في تنمية التفكير المستدام والمسئولية البيئية لدى تلاميذ الصف الثاني الإعدادي. This research aimed to investigating of the effectiveness of applying a unit in science based on the dimensions of education for sustainable development to develop sustainable thinking skills and environmental responsibility among second-grade middle school students. To achieve this goal, the research prepared a unit “The Atmosphere and Protection of the Earth's Layers” for the second grade of middle school based on the Dimensions of education for sustainable development, and research tools were built, which are a test of sustainable thinking skills and a scale of environmental responsibility, and to verify the effectiveness of the unit, a group of 66 students of the second grade of middle school was selected and divided into an experimental group that studied a prepared unit, and another group who studied the same unit without making modifications to it, and the research tools were applied before and after studying the unit, and the results of the research showed a statistically significant difference between the average grades of the experimental group and the control group students in the post application of the research tools in favor of the experimental group, as well as the presence of a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the students of the second group. Experimental in the pre and post applications of research tools in favor of the post application, and this indicates the effectiveness of applying the reconstructed unit based on the dimensions of education for sustainable development in the development of sustainable thinking and environmental responsibility of second-grade middle school students.
