هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على درجة ممارسة المقارنة المرجعية في المدارس الثانوية الحكومية بمدينة الطائف بمراحلها (الاستعداد - التخطيط - التنفيذ - المتابعة) من وجهة نظر المعلمين فيها، وتحديد درجة توافر أبعاد التميز المؤسسي (القيادي - المعرفي - البشري) في المدارس الثانوية الحكومية بمدينة الطائف من وجهة نظر المعلمين فيها، كما هدفت للتعرف على ما إذا كان هناك علاقة ارتباطيه ذات دلالة إحصائية بين متغير الدراسة المستقل (المقارنة المرجعية) ومتغير الدراسة التابع (التميز المؤسسي) في المدارس الثانوية الحكومية بمدينة الطائف، والكشف عن درجة تأثير المقارنة المرجعية في تحقيق التميز المؤسسي في المدارس الثانوية الحكومية بمدينة الطائف ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة استخدم الباحث المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، واستعان بأداة الاستلانة التي وزعت على عينة بلغت (339) معلماً من معلمي المدارس الثانوية الحكومية بمدينة الطائف. وقد أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن المقارنة المرجعية تمارس في المدارس الثانوية الحكومية بمدينة الطائف بدرجة متوسطة بصورة عامة بمتوسط حسابي (2.86) لجميع المحاور، وجاء ترتيب المحاور على النحو التالي (الاستعداد، التخطيط، المتابعة، التنفيذ). كما أظهرت أن أبعاد التميز المؤسسي في المدارس الثانوية الحكومية بمدينة الطائف تتوفر بدرجة متوسطة بلغت (2.83) لجميع المحاور، وجاء ترتيب المحاور على النحو التالي (القيادي - البشري - المعرفي). كما أظهرت أن هناك علاقة ارتباطية موجبة ذات دلالة إحصائية بين المقارنة المرجعية والتميز المؤسسي، وأن هناك تأثير موجب ذو دلالة إحصائية للمقارنة المرجعية على التميز المؤسسي، وقد قدمت الدراسة في نهايتها مجموعة من التوصيات أهمها تشجيع قيادات المدارس على الإهتمام بقياس أداء مدارسهم بشكل دوري ومنحهم المزيد من الصلاحيات الإدارية لتطبيق أفضل الأساليب الإدارية في قياس الأداء وفي اختيار (النموذج المرجعي) المناسب، كما أوصت بضرورة إنشاء قسم خاص في كل إدارة تعليمية يشرف على عمليات المقارنة المرجعية. The study aimed to know the extent of practicing the benchmarking in the governmental secondary schools in Taif city its stages including (the readiness, the planning. To achieve the aims of the study, the researcher used the analytical descriptive method, he used the questionnaire form that were distributed among sample of (339) teachers in Taif city. The results of the study showed that the benchmarking is practiced in the governmental secondary schools in Taif city with a middle degree in general. with the mathematical average of (2.86) for all the dimensions – the ranking of the dimensions appeared on the following (readiness, planning, following up and application) the study also showed that the institutional excellence dimensions in the governmental secondary schools in Taif city are available with an average degree of (2.83) for all the dimensions the ranking of the dimensions appeared on the following form: the leadership.
