تهدف الدراسة الحالية إلى الاستفادة من الدراسة المقارنة لدمج الجامعات في الصين والولايات المتحدة الأمريكية في معالجة بعض مشكلات الجامعات المصرية، وفي سبيل تحقيق هذا الهدف استخدمت الدراسة منهج "جورج بيريداي" بخطواته الأربع، والمتمثلة في (الوصف، والتفسير، والمقابلة والمقارنة)، وسارت الدراسة وفق هذا المنهج في مجموعة من الخطوات بالإطار العام للدراسة، ثم توضيح الأسس الفكرية والفلسفية لدمج الجامعات في الأدبيات التربوية المعاصرة، ثم تناولت الدراسة أبرز ملامح دمج الجامعات في الصين والولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، تبع ذلك خطوة التحليل المقارن والتي تشمل المقابلة بين دولتي المقارنة للوصول إلى الفرض الحقيقي للدراسة، والمقارنة التفسيرية للتوصل إلى أوجه الشبه والاختلاف بين دولتي المقارنة، وتفسيرها في ضوء العلوم الاجتماعية؛ للتأكد من صحة الفرض الحقيقي للدراسة، وتبع ذلك تحليل واقع جودة وكفاءة الجامعات المصرية في ضوء القوى والعوامل المؤثرة، وتمثلت الخطوة الأخيرة فى الإجراءات المقترحة لتنفيذ عملية دمج الجامعات في جمهورية مصر العربية في ضوء الاستفادة من الدراسة المقارنة لدمج الجامعات في الصين والولايات المتحدة مع مراعاة السياق الثقافي المصري. The study aims mainly to benefit from comparative study of university merger in China and United State of America in solving some of the problem of Egyptian universities, in order to achieve this goal, the study used George Bereday approach with its four steps (description, interpretation, juxtaposition, and comparison). The study proceeded according to this approach in a set of steps, starting with the general frame work of the study, then clarifying the theoretical framework of university merger in contemporary educational literature, then the study presented the most prominent features of universities merger in China and United State of America followed by a comparative analysis, which consists of two parts: the first part includes the juxtaposition between the two countries of comparison to determine the real hypothesis of the study and the second part includes an explanatory of comparison to determine the similarities and differences between the two countries and the interpretation of this in the light of social sciences to ensure the validity of the true hypothesis of the study, followed by an analysis of the reality of the quality and efficiency of Egyptian universities. The last step included the proposed procedures to implement merger in Egyptian universities in light of benefiting from the comparative study of the university merger in China and the United States of America taking into account the Egyptian context.
