The present study focuses on arousing EFL preparatory pupils’ interest in learning foreign culture which is considered as the most important part of learning foreign language and developing their intercultural communication competence. The Intercultural Communicative Competence (ICC) allows pupils to connect with the world around them and with people from different cultural background, through being aware of their own culture, appreciating other individual's cultural differences and being able to express them accurately in another language. Unfortunately, intercultural competence is overlooked in foreign English classes. This study aims at: - Investigating the effect of cultural capsule activity on developing EFL preparatory pupils' intercultural competence. To carry out the study and fulfill its aim, the following Hypothesis is set: There is no statistical significant difference between the mean scores of the experimental group which is taught by cultural capsule activity and the main scores of the control group which is taught by the conventional strategy in post intercultural competence test. In order to achieve the aim and verify the hypothesis above, Non - Randomized experimental group pre-post intercultural competence test design has been chosen. The pupils have been taught during the academic year 2019 - 2020. A sample consists of (70) pupils in the fourth scientific stage derived from Al-Mysaloon School for Girls. The fourth stage consists of two sections; section (A) randomly chosen to be the experimental group who are taught according to culture capsule activity and section (B) has randomly chosen to be the control group who are taught by using the conventional strategy. Each section consists of (35) pupils. The obtained data which is collected from results of the post intercultural competence test have been analyzed by using different statistical means such as: T-test, and one way analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results reveal that there is statistically significant difference in the mean scores between experimental and control groups in favor of the experimental group who are taught by using culture capsule activity.
