The research aims to reveal the effect of the strategy of an innovative solution to the problems in amending the misconceptions of elementary school students in mathematics, and the researcher has tried to answer the following questions: 1) What are the misconceptions of primary school students in mathematics? 2) What is the effect of the innovative solution strategy on amending the misconceptions of primary school students in mathematics? The research sample consisted of (58) primary fifth graders in the city of Baghdad, they were randomly distributed into two groups, one of which was experimental and consisted of (29) male and female students, and the other consisted of (29) male and female students, research tools: a test to identify false perceptions. Search results: The researcher reached several results, the most important of which are the following: 1) Inventory (28) perceptions of "misconceptions of mathematical concepts among fifth-grade primary students in the chapter (adding and subtracting large numbers) and (18) perceptions" of misconceptions of mathematical concepts for fifth-grade primary students in the chapter (adding and subtracting large numbers. 2) There is a difference of statistical significance at the level of significance (0.05) between the mean scores of students of the control group and the experimental group in the post application of the test to identify the misconceptions in mathematics, for the benefit of the experimental group. 3) There was a statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0.05) between the mean scores of students of the experimental group in the (pre-post) application to test the identification of misconceptions in mathematics, in favor of post-application. In light of the researcher's findings, she presented a number of recommendations, the most prominent of which is the use of an innovative solution strategy in teaching mathematics because of its ability to stimulate thinking among students, and thus help in modifying their misconceptions.
