The study aimed to identify the role of education departments in applying modern trends in educational development. To achieve the goals of the study, the researcher used the descriptive analytical approach, the questionnaire was used as a tool to collect information, it consisted of (20) paragraphs distributed on three variables: namely (the planning role, the organization role, the guidance role, and the supervision role), The researcher checked the validity and reliability of the study tool, the study sample was chosen randomly, which consisted of (100) employee in the education departments in Jeddah. The results of the study showed that the arithmetic average of the role of education departments in implementing modern trends in the development of education in all fields was high, and the results also found that there are no statistically significant differences in all fields of study depending on the variable (gender, age, years of experience, academic qualification and academic specialization), the results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences in all fields of study depending on “academic specialization” variable in the fields of the “ the planning role”, “the organization role”, and “the guidance role”, while there were statistically significant differences in the field of "the supervision role" in favor of the "literary" category. The study recommended the need for employees in the education departments in Jeddah to identify the school's human resources needs (supervisors / teachers / employees), and the necessity for them to coordinate the exchange of information with the relevant authorities.
