هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف على فاعلية استخدام استراتيجية الاكتشاف الموجه في تنمية التفكير التأملي والوعي بالقضايا المعاصرة من خلال مادة الإقتصاد المنزلي لدى تلاميذ الحلقة الثانية من التعليم الأساسي، ومدى الارتباط بين التحصيل المعرفي ومستوى التفكير التأملي والوعي بالقضايا المعاصرة. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة استخدم المنهج شبه التجريبي وطبقت الدراسة على عينة تكونت من (60) تلميذة قسمت بالتساوي على مجموعتين (تجريبية - ضابطة)، وأعدت أدوات الدراسة التي تمثلت في (اختبار تحصيلي - مقياس تفكير تأملي -مقياس الوعي بالقضايا المعاصرة) لجمع بيانات الدراسة. وأظهرت نتائج الدراسة تفوق المجموعة التجريبية التي درست بالاكتشاف الموجه على المجموعة الضابطة التي درست بالطرق التقليدية؛ مما يثبت فاعلية استخدام استراتيجية الاكتشاف الموجه في تنمية التحصيل المعرفي والتفكير التأملي والوعي بالقضايا المعاصرة، كما أظهرت النتائج وجود علاقة ارتباطية موجبة بين التحصيل المعرفي وكل من التفكير التأملي والوعي بالقضايا المعاصرة لدى عينة الدراسة. The aim of this study was to identify the effectiveness of the use of the strategy of guided discovery in the development of reflective thinking and awareness of contemporary issues through the subject of home economics in the students of the second cycle of basic education, and the correlation between cognitive achievement and the level of reflective thinking and awareness of contemporary issues. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the semi-experimental method was used. The study was applied on a sample of (60) students divided equally into two groups (experimental and control). The study tools, which consisted of (a mathematical test, a measure of reflective thinking and a measure of awareness of contemporary issues). The results of the study showed that the experimental group was superior to that of the control group that studied the traditional method. This proves the effectiveness of the strategy of guided discovery in the development of cognitive achievement and the reflective thinking and awareness of contemporary issues. The results also showed positive correlation between cognitive achievement, on the reflective thinking and awareness of contemporary issues the study sample. (Published abstract)
