هدف البحث إلى التعرف على مستوى أداء تلاميذ الصف الرابـع الابتدائي لمهارات فهم المقروء، وإلى التعرف على أثر استخدام استراتيجية التدريس التبادلي في تنمية مهارات التفكير الناقد لدى تلاميذ الصف الرابع الابتدائي، وتكونت عينة البحث من (42) تلميذا من تلاميذ الصف الرابع الابتدائي، تم تقسيمها إلى مجموعتين: ضابطة وعددها (21) تلميذا درسوا موضوعات القراءة بالطريقة العادية، ومجموعة تجريبية وعددها (21) تلميذا درسوا موضوعات القراءة باستخدام استراتيجية التدريس التبادلي، ثم قام الباحث بتطبيق أداتـي البحث، وهما اختبارا: فهم المقروء، والتفكير الناقد قبليا وبعديا، ثم تم معالجة النتائج إحصائيا، وكشفت نتائج البحث تدني مستوى أداء تلاميذ الصف الرابع الابتـدائي عند مستويات الفهم (الاستنتاجي - الناقد - التذوقي - الإبداعي)، في مهارات (التحليل، والتقويم، ومعرفة الافتراضات، والاستنتاج، والمقارنة، والتفسير، والترتيب، والتصنيف)، كما أظهرت النتائج فاعلية استراتيجية التدريس التبادلي في تنمية مهارات فهم المقروء بمستوياته الأربعة: الاستنتاجي - الناقد - التذوقي - الإبداعي. The aim of the research is to identify the level of performance of fourth grade pupils in reading comprehension skills. It also aimed at identifying the effect of using an interactive teaching strategy on developing critical thinking skills among fourth-grade students. This research sample consisted of (42) fourth-grade students. It was divided into two groups: A control group of (21) students who studied reading topics in the traditional method, and an experimental group of (21) students studied reading topics using the strategy of reciprocal teaching. The researcher applied the study tools: the reading comprehension test and the critical thinking test as pre and posttests. The results were treated statistically. The results revealed low performance of the fourth-grade pupils at the levels of understanding (deductive - critical - appreciation - creative) in the skills of ((analysis, evaluation, knowledge of assumptions, deduction, comparison, interpretation, arrangement, and classification). The results also showed the -effectiveness of the reciprocal teaching strategy in developing reading comprehension skills at its four levels (deductive - critical - appreciation - creative).
