هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى الكشف عن دور جامعة الأمير سطام بن عبد العزيز في التغير الاجتماعي والثقافي في البيئة المحيطة من وجهة نظر طالبات كلية التربية بالخرج، والتعرف على ما إذا كانت هناك فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في دور جامعة الأمير سطام بن عبد العزيز في التغير الاجتماعي والثقافي في البيئة المحيطة لدى الطالبات تُعزى لاختلاف البيانات الأولية (العمر، التخصص، المستوى الدراسي). ولتحقيق هذه الأهداف استخدمت الباحثة المنهج الوصفي المسحي، كما استخدمت الاستبانة أداةً لها، وتكوَّن مجتمع الدراسة من طالبات كلية التربية بالخرج، أما عينة الدراسة فقد تمثَّلَت في عينة عشوائية بسيطة من الطالبات بلغت (122) طالبة. وتوصلت الدراسة إلى مجموعة من النتائج، أبرزها ما يلي: أن أفرادَ الدراسة موافقون على دور جامعة الأمير سطام بن عبد العزيز في التغير الاجتماعي في البيئة المحيطة، وأن أبرز العبارات التي حصلت على درجة الموافقة هي: (عملت الجامعة على توفير التعليم الجامعي لكافة شرائح المجتمع) بمتوسط حسابي بلغ (4,13 من 5)، وعبارة: (تسهم وحدة خدمة المجتمع بالجامعة في إقامة الندوات والمحاضرات التي تهم المجتمع) بمتوسط حسابي بلغ (3,85 من 5). كما أوضحت النتائج أن أفرادَ الدراسة موافقون على دور جامعة الأمير سطام بن عبد العزيز في التغير الثقافي في البيئة المحيطة، وأن أبرز العبارات التي حصلت على درجة الموافقة هي: (ساهمت الجامعة في رفع المستوى الثقافي من خلال برامج الدراسات العليا) بمتوسط حسابي بلغ (4,11 من 5)، وعبارة: (عزَّزَت الجامعة من المهارات والقدرات لدى الطالبات من خلال المشاريع البحثية والمناشط الطلابية) بمتوسط حسابي بلغ (3,90 من 5). وكشفت النتائج أيضًا عن وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في استجابات أفراد عينة الدراسة تجاه دور جامعة الأمير سطام بن عبد العزيز في التغير الاجتماعي والثقافي في البيئة المحيطة لدى الطالبات باختلاف متغير العمر لصالح الفئة العمرية (من 24-فأكثر)، وأن هناك فروقًا باختلاف التخصص لصالح تخُّصص اللغة العربية والتربية الخاصة، وأن هناك فروقًا ذات دلالة إحصائية باختلاف المستوى الدراسي لصالح طالبات المستوى الرابع. This study aimed to identify the role of Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz university in the social and cultural change in the surrounding environment from the viewpoints of the faculty of education female students in Al-Kharj, and investigate the existence of statistically significant differences concerning the role of Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University in the social and cultural change in the surrounding environment among female students due to the difference in the variables of (age, specialization, academic level). In order to achieve these objectives, the researcher adopted the descriptive survey method and made use of a questionnaire as the study instrument. The study population included the female students at the Faculty of Education in Al-Kharj. Randomly, (122) female students were chosen to participate in the study. The study reached a number of results including that the participants of the study agreed and assured the role of Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University in the social change in the surrounding environment. The results showed that the most prominent statements that obtained the agreement of the participants were (The university worked to provide education to all society members) with an arithmetic mean of (4.13 out of 5), and the statement (The university's community service unit contributes to holding seminars and lectures of interest to the society) with an arithmetic mean of (3, 85 out of 5). The results also indicated that participants agreed to the role of Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University in the cultural change in the surrounding environment. The results showed that the most prominent statements that obtained the agreement of the participants were (The university contributed to raising the cultural level through post-graduation programs) with an arithmetic mean of (4.11 out of 5), and the statement (The university promoted the skills and abilities of female students through research projects and students' activities) with an arithmetic mean of (3, 85 out of 5). It also showed that there were statistically significant differences in the responses of the participants towards the role of Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University in the social and cultural change in the surrounding environment among female students according to the age variable in favor of the age group (from 24 and above). Also, there were statistically significant differences based on specialization in favor of the Arabic language and special education. The results also showed that there were statistically significant differences based on the academic level in favor of 4th grade students. (Published abstract)
