تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى ضرورة إدراج مناهج تعلیمیة حدیثة في تعلیمیة اللغة الإنجلیزیة المتخصصة لتزوید الطلبة باللغة الإنجلیزیة المتخصصة التي یحتاجونها في میادینهم. على الرغم من عدم وجود منهج تعلیمي موحد في تعلیمیة اللغة الإنجلیزیة المتخصصة إلا أن هذا البحث یسعى لدراسة مواقف طلبة البیولوجیا حول تبن المنهج القائم على الاستفسار كمنهج في تعلیمیة اللغة الإنجلیزیة المتخصصة. لهذا الغرض تم توجیه إستبیان إلى 120 طالب للغة الإنجلیزیة المتخصصة في أقسام البیولوجیا في جامعة إبن خلدون، تیارت. أظهرت نتائج البحث ردود فعل إیجابیة من طرف طلبة البیولوجیا، حیث أكدوا أن المنهج القائم على الاستفسار یمكن الطالب لیس فقط بتعلم اللغة، بل أیضا في إكتساب معرفة علمیة لغویة في میدان تخصصه. Recent research in the field of ESP indicates that ESP teachers have become more aware of the role of teaching methodologies in ESP classrooms. Today, the majority of teachers want to meet their students' needs and teach through better innovative compelling approaches to guarantee learners successful attainment of the target language and at the same time bring forth productive learners. To throw light on the students' reaction to these innovative methods, this study attempts to examine ESP learners 'attitudes toward the Inquiry-based learning/teaching approach into their ESP learning environment, thereby recommend or discourage its use. In order to assess students' feedback and preference of this approach, a questionnaire was administered to 120 ESP biology learners at the University of Ibn khaldoun Tiaret, Algeria. Results obtained from data showed positive attitudes and thorough support among learners of the Inquiry-based instructions. Thus, the Inquiry-based learning/teaching approach is perceived positively and it is esteemed to reinforce learners linguistic and science knowledge. (Published abstract)
