هدف البحث التعرف على المجالات الرئيسة للتمكين الاقتصادي لذوي الإعاقة من وجهة نظر أعضاء هيئة التدريس في بعض الجامعات السعودية، وذلك من خلال استخدام المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، وبلغت عينة البحث (110) من الأعضاء. وقد أبرزت النتائج تمثل ترتيب مجالات التمكين الاقتصادي للأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة من وجهة نظر عينة البحث بما يلي:توعية المعوقين، ودور المؤسسات الإعلامية، ودور الكليات ذات الصلة، ودور مؤسسات التوظيف الحكومية والأهلية. كما برزت جوانب القصور تبرز في مجالي (دور الكليات ذات الصلة، ودور مؤسسات التوظيف الحكومية والأهلية). كما أشارت النتائج إلى عدم وجود فروق دالة إحصائياً بين أعضاء هيئة التدريس في الدرجة الكلية في متغير النوع، بينما وجدت في متغير مدة الخبرة عند مستوى (01,0)، في حين أظهرت فروقاً في الأبعاد الفرعية لصالح الإناث في مجالي (توعية المعوقين، ودور المؤسسات الإعلامية)، وفي اتجاه الذكور في مجالي (دور الكليات ذات العلاقة، ودور مؤسسات التوظيف الحكومية والأهلية)، ثم قَدم الباحثان توصيات يؤمل أن تسهم في التمكين الاقتصادي لذوي الإعاقة.

The research aims to identify the key areas of the economic empowerment for people with disabilities from the viewpoint of the faculty members in some Saudi universities through using the descriptive analytical method. The sample of the research consists of (110) members. The results show that the key economic empowerment areas for people with disabilities follow the following order: (educating the disabled themselves is the first, then the roles of the relevant colleges, the government and private employment institutions, and the media institutions, respectively). The results also highlight some shortcomings in the key areas of the roles of: (the relevant colleges, government, and private employment institutions). The results also shows a lack of statistically significant differences between the faculty members in the over all degree of the variable of (type), while the significant differences appears in the variable of (experience duration) at (01,0). Moreover, the significant differences appears in the sub-dimensions in favor of females in the areas of: (educating the disabled, and the role of media institutions), while the significant differences appear in the areas of (the role of the colleges concerned, and the role of government and private institutions of employment) in favor of males. The researchers then made some recommendations that will hopefully contribute to the economic empowerment of persons with disabilities. (Published abstract)
