This study aims to investigate (The institutional performance development in Shaqra University in the light of the standards of European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM), and identify the barriers that limit the (EFQM) Standards’ applicability).To achieve these objectives, the researcher used a descriptive analytical approach. He also used the questionnaire as a tool for his study. The study community consisted of the deans, vice-rectors and departments heads in Shaqra University, with a number of (175), including 22 deans, 46 vice-rectors, and 89 department heads. He used the Complete Census methodology, and he applied the study tool online to the study community. There were 122 of recovered questionnaires which were valid for entry and analysis. The study concluded some results, of which the most important are: The individuals of study sample responded with agree with a middle degree on the degree of practicing the standards of European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM), where the degree of practicing the strategy field came at the first place, followed by the leadership field then the community service field, then the field of beneficiaries. The employees stratification filed came at the last order. Results show that the most notable barriers that limit the (EFQM) Standards’ applicability, where the following were having a high degree (the more burden placed on the academic and administrative staff, the geographic remoteness between the university and its branches, that makes applying the (EFQM) difficult. The study submitted a proposal for institutional performance development in Shaqra University according to its results. (Published abstract)
