This study aims to investigate the successful and unsuccessful characteristics of female Saudi English language teachers. Eight- four Saudi English language students, who expected to graduate and become English teachers, participated in this study. It is a replication of Alwahibee’s (2016) study. Therefore, the 24- items questionnaire of was adopted for the purpose of this study. The aim is to investigate the four main categories of which included teaching ability, classroom management, knowledge of teaching by teachers, and personal skills. This study also compared the characteristics of male and female teachers. The results of the study showed that female students prefer to have female teachers with affective characteristics. Additionally, the students ranked teaching skills as their second choice. The female students thought that teachers’ characteristics play a great role in students’ achievements. Finally, this study found that Saudi male and female teachers have the same characteristics, though they emphasize these characteristics differently. Curriculum planners should embed these characteristics in the methodology of their courses to prepare future teachers. Investigating teachers’ characteristics from the point of view of the teachers themselves would be a good idea for future research. (Published abstract)
