The aim of the research study is to identify the efficiency of a training program proposal in providing intermediate school mathematics teachers with the skills of using the alternative assessment in their instruction, as well as measuring the impact on the motivation development for students’ achievement in the intermediate stage. The study sample consisted of 52 teachers; the experimental group made up 26 teachers and the control group made up of 26, as well as (310) students, (155) female students of the female teacher trainees of the program, and (155) female students of the female teacher non-trainees of the program. The research tool used was a performance note card that consisted of (8) key mathematics skills. This also included a measure of motivation in mathematics achievement, and the pre-implementation and post-implementation of the two research tools were carried out. The research study revealed a set of results, including: the efficiency of the training program proposal in providing mathematics teachers some of the skills of using the alternative assessment in instruction. There is also a statistically significant difference for the part of experimental group in the post-implementation of the measure of achievement motivation along with the high impact. Finally, some recommendations and suggestions were put forward. (Published abstract)
