هدفت الدراسة إلى تعرف مدى امتلاك طلبة الصف الثاني المتوسط لمهارات التفكير الإبداعي، ومعرفة علاقة ذلك بجنس الطلبة، ولتحقيق ذلك اعتمد الباحثان المنهج الوصفي، وتكونت عينة البحث من (200) طالب وطالبة وبواقع (100) طالب و(100) طالبة، من مدارس محافظة بغداد. وقد عد الباحثان مقياساً للتفكير الإبداعي تكون من (30) فقرة وتم التحقق من صدقها وثباتها، ومن ثم طبق الباحثان المقياس على عينة البحث، وكشفت النتائج على امتلاك طلبة الصف الثاني المتوسط للتفكير الإبداعي، ولم تظهر فروق دالة إحصائياً في متغير الجنس، ومن خلال نتيجة البحث توصل الباحثان إلى ضرورة تنمية التفكير الإبداعي لدى طلبة الصف الثاني المتوسط للكشف عن مفهوم الابداع لديهم وتوجيهها ورعايتها، وقدم الباحثان عدداً من التوصيات وأهمها الاهتمام بموضوع الإبداع على المستويين النظري والتطبيقي في المرحلة المتوسطة، واقترحا إجراء دراسات مكملة للبحث الحالي، ومنها حول علاقة التفكير الإبداعي بمتغيرات آخر مثل (التحصيل، دافع الإنجاز، اكتساب المفاهيم). The study aimed to know the extent to which students of the second intermediate grade possess the skills of creative thinking, and to know the relationship of that to the gender of students, and to achieve that, the researchers adopted the descriptive approach, and the research sample consisted of (200) students and (100) students and (100) students from conservative schools Baghdad. The researchers considered a measure of creative thinking that consisted of (30) items, validation and validity were verified, and then the researchers applied the scale to the research sample, and the results revealed that students of the second grade of middle school had creative thinking, and there were no statistically significant differences in the gender variable, and through the result of the research. The researchers reached the necessity of developing creative thinking among the second intermediate class students to reveal the concept of creativity and guide and care for them.
