The study aimed to find out the relationship between the teaching performance of pre-service teachers and their attitude towards teaching career. The sample of the study consisted of 29 female students of the second level in mathematics (expected to graduate), who were studying in the General Diploma Program in Education at Taibah University and were registered in Practicum 2 course. The study was conducted during the two academic semesters (1436/1437H). Two instruments were used; the first one was a questionnaire measuring the attitude towards the teaching career, prepared by the researcher, consisting of (36) items divided into three aspects. The second was an observation sheet to evaluate pre-service teachers' performance prepared by the Department of Curricula and Teaching Methods at the College of Education. It consisted of (20) items divided into three aspects. The results revealed high and positive perception of the sample towards the teaching career, with the mean level of the sample being (high). The results also showed a positive relationship between the variables of teaching performance of pre-service teachers and their attitude towards the teaching career, indicating strong correlation between the variables. The study revealed the following prediction equation: Teaching performance of the student = 0.221 × attitude towards the teaching career + 261.169. In light of the results, a number of recommendations were suggested, the most important of which was to direct the administrators of the general education diploma program to identify the courses that develop the attitude of pre-service students towards the teaching career, in addition to investigating other factors that affect the teaching performance.
