هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على مستوى الإساءة اللفظية التي يمارسها المعلمون تجاه طلابهم في المرحلة الثانوية في محافظة جدة، والتعرف على مستوى تقدير الذات لدى طلاب المرحلة الثانوية في محافظة جدة، والكشف عن العلاقة بين الإساءة اللفظية من المعلمين وبين تقدير الذات لدى طلاب المرحلة الثانوية في محافظة جدة، واعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج الوصفي الارتباطي لتحقيق أهدافها، وتم تصميم مقياسين هما: مقياس الإساءة اللفظية، ومقياس تقدير الذات، وتم تطبيقهما على عينة عشوائية قوامها (985) طالبا من المرحلة الثانوية من مختلف مكاتب التعليم بمدارس محافظة جدة في الفصل الأول من العام الدراسي 1438/1439هـ. وأظهرت النتائج أن درجة الإساءة اللفظية لدى المعلمين كانت ضعيفة، كما أن مستوى تقدير الذات لدى الطلاب كان مرتفعا، وكشفت وجود علاقة ارتباطية عكسية بين الإساءة اللفظية من المعلمين تجاه طلاب المرحلة الثانوية في محافظة جدة وبين تقدير الذات لديهم. The study aimed to identify the level of verbal abuse practiced by teachers towards their students in the secondary stage in Jeddah governorate, and to identify the level of self-esteem among secondary stage in Jeddah governorate, and to reveal the relationship between verbal abuse of teachers and self-esteem of students of the secondary stage in the Jeddah governorate. The study was based on a descriptive approach to achieve its objectives, two measures were designed: the verbal abuse scale and the self- esteem scale, they were applied to a random sample of (985) students of secondary stage from various educational offices in Jeddah governorate schools in the first semester of the academic year 1438 / 1439 the results showed that the degree of verbal abuse of teachers was weak. The level of self-esteem among students was high and revealed the existence of an inverse correlation between the verbal abuse of teachers towards students of the secondary stage in Jeddah governorate and their self-esteem.
