The events of stressful life and its relation to the motivation of academic achievement and quality of life among the students of the Faculty of Education at Al-Aqsa University [Article]
The current study aimed to identify the relationship between stressful life events and the quality of life of the female students of the Faculty of Education at Al-Aqsa University, with an understanding of the relations between the scores scales of the stressful life events. Motivation of academic achievement and quality of life among the female students of the Faculty of Education at Al-Aqsa University are attributed to variables of social status, academic average and cultural background. The study sample consisted of (240) female students from the Faculty of Education at Al-Aqsa University for the second semester of the academic year 2018/2019. The researcher used the following tools: The stressful events scale of the students of Al-Aqsa University, prepared by: Abu Mustafa and Al-Smiri (2008), and the motivation of academic achievement, prepared by: Abu Mustafa (2016), and the quality of life scale for university students, prepared by: Mansi and Kazim (2006). The researcher also used the following statistical methods: Pearson correlation coefficient, and variance analysis. Results of the study showed that there is a significant negative correlation between scale scores of the stressful life events and the motivation of the academic achievement among the female students of the Faculty of Education at Al-Aqsa University. Also, the results showed that there is a significant negative correlation between scale scores of the stressful life events and the quality of life among the female students of the Faculty of Education at Al-Aqsa University. Results also demonstrated that there is no statistically significant effect between stressful life events, motivation of the academic achievement and the quality of life among the female students of the Faculty of Education at Al-Aqsa University; and interactions: social status, academic average and cultural background.
