هدفت الدراسة الكشف عن درجة تضمن كتاب العلوم والحياة للصف الرابع الأساسي في فلسطين لمعايير الجيل الجديد في العلوم ومستويات التفكير المتضمنة بها، ولتحقيق هدف الدراسة تمَّ بناء الأداة المتمثلة ببطاقة تحليل المحتوى المبنية على قائمة المعايير (NGSS)، وقد تَّم التحقق من صدقها وثباتها، واستخدمَ المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، وأظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن مجال "الأفكار الرئيسة" جاء في المرتبة الأولى وبنسبة مئوية مرتفعة بلغت (75.1 %)، وجاء مجال "المفاهيم المشتركة" في المرتبة الثانية وبنسبة مئوية متدنية بلغت (16.7 %)، وجاء مجال "الممارسات العلمية والهندسية" في المرتبة الثالثة وبنسبة مئوية متدنية بلغت (8.8 %). كما وأظهرت النتائج أن هناك تفاوتًا ملحوظًا بتضمن مستويات بلوم المعرفية التي ظهرت وفق (NGSS)، وبشكل أكثر دقة حصلت مستويات التفكير الدنيا (التذكر والفهم) على نسبة مئوية مرتفعة (88.9%)، مقارنةً بمستويات التفكير العليا (التطبيق، والتحليل، والتركيب، والتقويم) والتي حصلت على نسبة مئوية منخفضة (11.1%). This study aimed at detecting the degree to which the science and life textbook the 4th grade in Palestine included the next generation of science standards and cognitive domain. The study used the content analysis card tool designed according to a group of (NGSS). The reliability and validity of the tools of the study were confirmed. The study adopted the descriptive analytical method. The results showed that the field of “Disciplinary Core Ideas” came first with a significantly high percentage of (75.1%) while the field of “Crosscutting Concepts” came second with remarkably low percentage of (16.7%). The field of “Science and Engineering Practices” ranked third, with a dramatically low percentage of (8.8%). They also demonstrated that there is a marked disparity when applying the levels of Bloom’s taxonomy through which the (NGSS) appeared. More accurately, the lower level cognitive skills (remembering and understanding) hit a high percentage of (88.9%), compared to the higher-level cognitive skills (applying, analyzing, creating, and evaluating) that posted a significantly low percentage of (11.1%).
