هدفت الدراسة الحالية إلى التعرف على الفروق في التسويف الأكاديمي وتقدير الذات والتفاؤل لدى عينة من طالبات الصفين العاشر والحادي عشر في محافظة اربد، الأردن. وتكونت عينة الدراسة من (200) طالبة (100 في صف العاشر، و100 في الصف الحادي عشر) تم اختيارهن عشوائياً من مدرستين ثانويتين حكوميتين. وقد أكملت المشاركات ثلاثة مقاييس، مقياساً للتسويف الأكاديمي، ومقياساً لتقدير الذات، وآخر للتفاؤل. وأشارت النتائج إلى أن مستوى التسويف الأكاديمي كان لدى طالبات الصف الحادي عشر أعلى بشكلٍ دالٍ مما هو لدى طالبات الصف العاشر، ومستوى كل من تقدير الذات والتفاؤل لدى طالبات الصف العاشر أعلى بشكلٍ دالٍ مما هو لدى طالبات الصف الحادي عشر. كما بينت النتائج أن هناك ارتباطات سالبة دالة إحصائياً بين التسويف الأكاديمي وكل من تقدير الذات والتفاؤل، وأن هناك ارتباطات إيجابية دالة إحصائياً بين تقدير الذات والتفاؤل لدى طالبات الصفين العاشر والحادي عشر. The present study aimed to explore differences in academic procrastination, self-esteem and optimism among a sample of 10th and 11th female students in Irbid governorate, Jordan. The study sample consisted of 200 students (100 tenth graders, and 100 twelfth graders), selected randomly from two public high schools. The Participants completed three scales, an academic procrastination scale, a self-esteem scale, and an optimism scale. Results indicated that the level of academic procrastination among eleventh graders was significantly higher than that among tenth graders, and the levels of self-esteem and optimism were significantly higher among tenth graders than those among eleventh graders. Furthermore, there were significant negative correlations between academic procrastination and each of self-esteem and optimism, and significant positive correlations between self-esteem and optimism in tenth and eleventh graders.
