هدف هذا البحث إلى التحقق من رؤية علم النفس للموهوبين المعاقين ذهنياً ابتداءً من الاعتراف بموهبتهم والكشف عنها وانتهاءً بتفعيلها وتطويرها. استخدم المنهج الاستقرائي. خلص البحث إلى أن علم النفس المعاصر يمتلك تفسيرات متعددة تؤكد إمكانية تزامُن الموهبة مع الإعاقة الذهنية لدى الموهوبين المعاقين ذهنياً. وأن محك "معامل الذكاء" قد أثبتت الأدلة العلمية عدم دقته في تشخيص الموهبة. كما توصل البحث إلى أن تطوير الموهبة لدى الموهوبين المعاقين ذهنياً يتطلب تصميم استراتيجيات وبرامج تقوم على مبدأ الفروق الفردية، وذلك تماشياً مع اتساع فئة الموهوبين المعاقين ذهنياً نتيجة لتعدد فئات الموهبة التي تتفاعل مع أنواع الإعاقة الذهنية ومستوياتها المتعددة. اختتم البحث بعدد من التوصيات يتمثل أهمها في التوصية بالتركيز على نقاط القوة لدى الموهوبين المعاقين ذهنياً بدلاً من التركيز على نقاط ضعفهم؛ بهدف تطوير موهبتهم بذات الإيجابية التي تقوم عليها إجراءات تطوير الموهبة لدى الموهوبين عموماً. This research aims to investigate the psychology vision for the gifted with intellectual disabilities, starting from the recognition and disclosure of their talent and ending with its activation and development. The Inductive method was adopted. This research has concluded that contemporary psychology has multiple explanation that confirm the synchronization of the talent with mental disability in gifted with intellectual disabilities. the criterion of "intelligence factor", which scientific evidence has proven inaccurate in the diagnosis of talent. The research also reached that development of talent gifted with intellectual disabilities requires designing strategies and programs based on the principle of individual differences, in line with the expansion of the gifted with intellectual disabilities group as a result of the multiplicity of talent categories that interact with the various types of intellectual disability and their levels. The research concluded with a number of recommendations, the most important of which is the recommendation to focus on the strengths of the gifted with intellectual disabilities instead of focusing on their weaknesses, in order to develop their talent with the same positivity that is based on the talent development procedures for gifted people in general.
