The aim of the research is to define the degree of prevalence of people with special needs in the city of Azaz, in light of the variables of the type of disability, gender and age stage, as the size of the survey sample reached (1168) disabled and handicapped persons, who were selected from the research community (residents of Azaz city) by the method of available survey sample, where A working group was formed of (20) male and female university students in the liberated north of Syria and divided them into four groups, after which they conducted a complete survey of the city of Azaz by dividing the city into four geographical regions (the eastern region, the southern region, the western region, and the northern region). A data form that includes (name, age, gender, country, type of disability, reason for disability, place of residence) after confirming its suitability for use, and the team was followed up by the researchers (Ghafran Al-Atrash, Munir Sheikh Hammoud) during the data collection period, and a database was created on people with special needs in the city of Azaz and the survey concluded field to the following results: 1) The presence of (1168) handicapped and handicapped women in the city of Azaz, where the mobility disability was the largest percentage of the disabled by (51%), followed by visual impairment by (18%), followed by mental disability by (14%), followed by speech disorders by (9%). It is followed by hearing impairment by (6%), followed by autism (1%), followed by learning difficulties (1%) approximately. 2) There are differences in the prevalence of people with special needs among the handicapped according to the age stage, where the percentage of disabled children reached (25%), the percentage of disabled adolescents and youth (26%), and the percentage of adults and the elderly (49%). 3) There are differences in the prevalence of people with special needs among the handicapped according to gender, where the percentage of the disabled male is (67%), and the percentage of the disabled female is (33%). 4) There are differences in the prevalence of people with special needs among the handicapped according to the cause of disability, as the percentage of disabled people with environmental causes is (56%), and the percentage of disabled people with genetic causes is (44%).
