هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف على مستوى الدافعية العقلية لدى الطلبة الموهوبين بمحافظة جدة والفروق في تلك الدرجة تبعا لمغير الجنس، ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة تم استخدام المنهج الوصفي على عينة تكونت من (400) طالبا وطالبة من الطلبة الموهوبين في منطقة جدة، تم تطبيق مقياس الدافعية العقلية المطور على البيئة السعودية من قبل القضاة والعسيري (2015)، والذي تكون من (43) فقرة موزعة على ثلاثة أبعاد (التوجه نحو التعلم، حل المشكلات إبداعيا، التركيز العقلي). أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن درجة الدافعية العقلية لدى الطلبة الموهوبين بمحافظة جدة كانت متوسطة على المقياس الكلي وعلى جميع الأبعاد الفرعية، ووجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في متوسطات بعدي التوجه نحو التعلم وحل المشكلات إبداعيا والمقياس ككل لدى الطلبة الموهوبين تعزى لمتغير الجنس ولصالح الإناث. The study aimed at identify the degree of mental motivation among gifted students, and the effect of study variables (stage, gender) on the degree of mental motivation among study sample, the descriptive approach was used, the study sample consist of (400) gifted students. In order to achieve the study purposes the researcher applied mental motivation scale on students after calculated suitable validity and reliability for them. The results indicated that the degree of mental motivation among the gifted students in Jeddah area was moderate on the total scale and on its dimensions, and the scale as a whole, and there are statistically significant differences in the average of all dimensions and the scale as a whole due to the gender variable in favor of females.
