The study aimed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the audio-phonetic rehabilitation program "Afnan’s Training Portfolio" in rehabilitating mothers of children with hearing impairments, to develop verbal and non-verbal communication skills of their children, and sought to achieve this goal in light of answering the main question of the study: How effective is Afnan’s Training portfolio in rehabilitating mothers of children with hearing impairments, to develop verbal and non-verbal communication skills of their children? In order to answer this question, the researcher used the quantitative method, with a quasi-experimental design. The study population consisted of mothers of children with hearing impairments in the School of Ephpheta Paul VI, for Audio Phonetic Rehabilitation, with number of (175) individuals. An intentional sample was taken to represent the experimental group with a number of 20 mothers, and a control group with the number of 20 mothers, to study the effect of the program and its effectiveness. To achieve the goals of the study, the researcher utilized two tools: The first tool was a pre- and post-diagnostic test and the second tool used was the training program "Afnan’s Training Portfolio”. The results of the data analysis indicated that there are apparent differences in the arithmetic averages of the mothers’ attainment of the experimental and control groups in the pre and post diagnostic tests. The arithmetic average of the mothers of the experimental group in the pre-test was (0.73), while the arithmetic average of the post test was (2.44). On the other hand, the arithmetic average of the pre and post-tests of the control group was (0.80). This shows the positive effect of the audio-phonetic rehabilitation program "Afnan’s Portfolio” in providing the mother with knowledge regarding what hearing impairments are, how to deal with their children and using the appropriate audio-phonetic rehabilitation methods for them. In light of the results of the study, a set of recommendations were presented, which urgently request the necessity to integrate the Audio-Phonetic Rehabilitation Program "Afnan’s Portfolio" in the curricula for the rehabilitation of children with hearing impairments and cochlear implants. The researcher also recommended the necessity of conducting a complementary study, using the methods of observation and interview in order to capture the impact of the progress on the children of the mothers who attended the course.
