The following working paper aimed at: Determining the impact of distance learning in achieving sustainable development in the educational process, and the researcher formulated the main question of the problem and the sub-questions that emerged from it, and set goals, and some previous studies supported on the topic, and the researcher included them in two axes: The first axis: Some studies that dealt with distance learning services in the educational process. The second axis: Some studies that dealt with sustainable development and the importance of developing its fields in the educational system. In order to achieve the objectives of the working paper, the paper's axes were divided into two main chapters: Chapter One: (Distance learning: concept and essence) and it contained the following topics: Distance learning (the concept and historical development) Distance learning and its importance, some distance learning tools, Distance learning is a powerful contribution to social and economic development as elements of sustainable development, the advantages and disadvantages of distance learning, an overview of distance learning technologies and their importance in the educational process and the achievement of sustainable development goals, future research directions and distance learning. The second chapter: It is titled (sustainable development and its relationship to distance learning), and it included the following topics: the concept of sustainable development and its dimensions, the role of distance learning and education technology in achieving sustainable development, levels of sustainable development, implementation of the distance learning experience in light of sustainable development perceptions commonly used In the topics of sustainable development, how to use distance learning technology in the educational process in the light of sustainable development, the skills of electronic teaching at a distance in light of the dimensions of sustainable development, then after that the researcher presented the summary and conclusions, and from the results reached by the scientific paper were as follows: 1) Increasing investment in the information and communication technology sector, as one of the aspects of distance learning and its forms, and its good use and employment represent a golden opportunity to advance sustainable development and achieve improvements in living standards for all segments of society. 2) Investment in the field of distance learning is governed by a set of determinants that may lead to encourage or discourage it, and from it, governments must provide the appropriate enabling environment to stimulate business in the IT sector Information, communication and distance learning, and creating mechanisms that stimulate local and foreign investments and support this type of learning. 3) The growth of services and the use of types of distance learning technology necessitates the provision of financial resources mainly through companies operating in the sector, whether through attracting local or foreign investments.
