The study aimed to discuss the research trends of foreign studies in various fields, which use non-participating observation as a research tool in qualitative research, and focus was on this type of research after researchers noted the lack of interest in applying the qualitative approach in research studies in Arab societies, and to achieve the goal of the study was used the descriptive approach and qualitative context analysis method, the study consisted of (25) foreign studies that used non-participating observation as a research tool in several areas, where foreign studies were analyzed into samples, tools and fields to reach results clear. The study stated that the choice of the type and number of the sample is due to the researcher himself, and the results also showed that the diversity in the use of more than one tool in conjunction with the non-participating observation for example: interviews, and analysis of documents and questionnaire helps the researcher to collect more valid data to achieve the goal of the research, as for the number of tools used in conjunction with the non-participating observation, this is due to what the researcher sees and seeks to achieve in his research, so choosing the tool is one of the basics that helps the researcher to reach the data reliably, and the results also showed that the non-participating observation is suitable for many research fields, whether medical, educational, legal, and others, but the field of (medicine, health, and nursing) issues the most used fields for nonparticipation observation, and it has also been found that studies that use non-participation observation often take a long time period to collect data where some of them were up to several months and years, and finally it became clear that there is a clear diversity in the use of research tools and the number of researchers, and this indicates that there is no relationship between the number of tools used in the study, and the number of researchers based on them.
