The purpose of the present research is to describe teachers’ attitude toward using Shams platform in general education in Jeddah which includes the advantages and obstacles that they perceive in using the platform. Based on the use of the diffusion of innovation theory, this study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected using a survey, and the sample consisted of 145 teachers. According to the results, one of the main advantages that encourage teachers to use Shams platform in the educational process is that it develops computer skills for both teachers and students. Another advantage of using Shams is that it encourages teachers to collaborate and exchange their practical knowledge with their colleagues. On the other hand, internet service interruption, and teachers’ lack of knowledge in designing educational resources were two of the most noted obstacles that hinders teachers from using Shams platform. The results showed there was no statistically significant differences in teachers’ attitudes toward using Shams platform due to specialization, educational qualification, or experience. However, there are statistically significant differences in teachers’ attitudes due to the computer proficiency. Recommendations of the study included study included offering teachers training courses on using Shams platform and applying it to the educational process. Additionally, the study recommends conducting more research on implementing Shams platform to the educational process and testing its effectiveness in enriching the educational content.
