This study aimed to identify the effect of the active learning (the four corners strategy) in the development of the oral communication skills of the pupils of the third basic grade in Gaza strip. To achieve this, the following questions were formed? 1) What are the appropriate oral communication skills for third basic grade pupils? 2) What are the procedures for employing the four corners strategy in developing the oral communication skills of the third-grade basic pupils? 3) Are there statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05≤α) between the average of the experimental and the controlled group average in the post application of the test of listening skills? 4) Are there statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05≤α) between average of the experimental and the controlled group average in the post application of the oral communication observation card? 5) What is the impact of using the four corners strategy in developing the oral communication skills of the third basic grade pupils? The study used semi experimental approach for both the experimental and the controlled groups by using pre and post measurements. The sample of the study was chosen from Al-Aishia Primary School for Girls in the Directorate of Education in the middle Governorate, the sample was chosen in a deliberate method. The study sample consisted of two classes of the third basic grade, (3/1) with (37) students, were taught by using four corners strategy, while the class (3/2) students represent the control group with (39) students, were taught in the usual way. The study tools were determined: in the listening skills test, the oral communication skills observation card, and they were verified by using the sincerity of the arbitrators, the internal consistency was validated, the stability of the test was verified using the half-division method, and the α-cronbach equation was used to find the minimum stability of the instruments. In order to reach the results of the study, data were collected and processed using the following statistical methods: Test "T" for two independent samples, and the size of the effect of using the ETA box. The results of the study showed that there were statistically significant differences at (0.01) between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups in the post-application in favor of the experimental group. 1) The listening skills test, and the size of a very large effect by using the ETA box and its worth is (0.306). 2) The observation of oral communication skills card, and the very large impact by using the ETA box, and it's worth is (0.383). In light of the previous results, the researcher recommends: 1) To use the four corner strategy in the teaching of Arabic language and its various skills, especially oral communication skills. 2) To increasing interest to the oral communication skills in the basic stage and to introduce it in appropriate way suitable to the student's level.
