تركّز هذه المداخلة على أهمية الكتاب المدرس كمصدر للعلم والمعرفة لدى المتعلم وكأداة تتجسد فيها الأهداف التربوية التي يتضمنها المنهج الدراسي لهذا البلد أو ذاك، كما أنها توضح الطرق الصحيحة في تأليف الكتاب المدرسي مثل التنظيم الجيد للكتاب وفصوله، وترابط موضوعاته وتماسكها، فضلاً عن ترابط الكتاب مع الكتب الأخرى في المادة نفسها. كذلك لا بد من مراعاة معيار التوازن في تناول الموضوعات الدراسية بحيث ينال كل موضوع ما يستحقه من عناية المؤلف دون إفراط أو تفريط. ومن المعايير الأخرى التي يجب مراعاتها أن تكون مادة الكتاب وظيفية ترتبط بواقع التلميذ ومجتمعه وأن يتسم مضمونها العلمي بالحداثة وأن تكون لغة الكتاب سليمة بسيطة تخلو من التعقيدات اللغوية مع عناية خاصة بالمصطلحات العلمية. This paper focuses on the importance of the teacher as a source of learning and knowledge for the learner and as an embodiment of the educational goals in the academic curriculum of one country or another; the study also sheds light on the appropriate methods of textbook composition such as a well thought-out structure for the textbook and its chapters, and the relevance and coherence of its contents, in addition to the textbook’s coherence with other books in the same school subject. In addition, it was necessary to take into consideration the criteria of balance in addressing topics whereby each topic receives its proper (rather than excessive or deficient) share of the textbook author’s attention. Among the other criteria that need to be taken into consideration are textbook content functionality, whereby content is linked to the student’s reality and society; the contemporaneity of textbooks’ scientific content; and the simplicity and straightforwardness of textbook language and its avoidance of linguistic complications, with special attention to scientific terms.
