Goal of research is to identify the effect of higher levels of thinking strategy in achievement of mathematics and visual thinking for second grade students in college of education of pure sciences. To implement research goal, researchers adopted two group experimental research approach with pre-test. Research community is identified with second grade from Ibn Al Haitham college. 100 students are randomly elected sample then parted into two groups: 1) An experimental group which is studied according to higher level of thinking strategy.2) Control group which is studied according to ordinary way. The equivalence procedure is made with different variables. A visual thinking test is structured to collect data for the experiment. For the purpose of data collection in this experiment, a test was designed based on the higher levels of thinking method, and the final achievement test consists of 8 sections essay type. Achievement test consists of 8 test items with essay type. A proper statistical analysis is made to ensure the syco-meterics proprieties of the test. The results show the superiority of the experimental group who studied according to the higher levels of thinking method to those who studied according to the ordinary way. (Published abstract)
