The current study aimed to investigate the relationship between patterns of internet addiction (social networking sites, sexual sites, online games, electronic gambling, information download) and some manifestations of alienation among high school students (incompetence, indifference, isolation). To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the descriptive method. The researcher also used two measures: the scale of the patterns of internet addiction that she prepared and the scale of alienation prepared by Kotb, the researcher used the following statistical methods: arithmetical averages, standard deviations, Pearson correlation coefficient, (Cronbach’s alpha) stability coefficient, t test, multiple regression analysis, variance analysis, Scheffe test for dimensional comparisons. The results of the study showed that there is a positive correlation between the patterns of internet addiction and alienation. The study also concluded that the most alienation dimensions of internet addiction are isolation, disability, and illiteracy. (Published abstract)
