The impact of guidance programme with logical reasoning style on reducing psychological distress among female orphan students at intermediate stage [Article]
The study is aiming at identifying the impact of guidance programme with logical reasoning style on reducing psychological distress among female orphan students at intermediate stage, the current study is limited psychological distress among female orphan students at intermediate stage in the Diyala governorate at Baqubah district center for the academic year (2015-2016). To verify the aim of the study, an experimental design is used which is experimental group and control group with pretest and posttest designs. The sample consists of (36) orphan female students which are randomly distributed into two groups (experimental group) and (control groups), in the amount of (18) students for each group. An equivalence has been done between the two groups in the number of and the researcher design adopting distress scale that, variables the researcher applied a guidance, consists of (24) items programme with (logical reasoning style) according to the cognitive theory of (Ellis), it is performed through guidance programme designed psychological distress. The programme included (13) guidance sitting, in the amount of twice session per week, each session is45 minutes long. The following statistical methods are use test, squire kay, weighted mean, and weight percentile, Mann Whitney test. The results show that the guidance programme with logical reasoning style has an effect to reduce psychological distress in the light of the programme results, for among female students. Number of recommendations and suggestions are put forward. (Published abstract)
