The current research aims to identify the effect of pdeode strategy in the achievement of the physics subject of the 5th grade scientific applied and their cognitive failure, the researcher selected the experimental design with a partial adjust. The sample of the research consists of (75) students the experimental group consists of (38) students and the control group consists of (37) students. The two groups were confirmed in the variables of age in months, cognitive failure and intelligence test degrees (carter & ken test).the researcher coined the behavioral objectives pertaining the chapter 2, 3, and 4 in the book of physics scheduled for the academic year (2018-2019) .the research prepared suitable lesson plans for the two groups. As for the two research tools, the researcher prepared the achievement test which consists of (20) objectivity item of the type of multiple choice and five essay items. The researcher adopted the cognitive failure scale of broadbent & his colleagues and its psychometric characteristics has been counted. The statistical means were used (coefficient of difficulty, discrimination power equation, t-test, alfa - cronbach equation and keodr- richardson 20 equation).to analysis the results which showed the superiority of the students in the experimental group against the students of the control group in each of the achievement test and cognitive failure scale. According to this situation, the researcher had a number of recommendations, the most important one is the use of pdeode strategy in teaching physics and update to search. The researcher suggested conducting similar research in another classes and another subjects. (published abstract)
