This study aims at investigating the effect of a generative learning model in developing reading skills of the female students of the first intermediate grade in the subject of reading. The researcher chose Um Salama Intermediate School deliberately among the schools in Diyala province. The sample consisted of 44 female students. The sample was randomly divided into two groups. The researcher equalized the two groups in some variables like intelligence, linguistic competence, the scores in the previous year, age, the scores of the pretest. To achieve the aim of the study, the researcher prepared a test that assesses three skills: comprehension, speed, and precision. The researcher applied the test before and after the experiment. After collecting, correcting, and statistically analyzing the data, the results showed the transcend of the experimental group on the control group. The researcher came up with certain conclusions, recommendations. (Published abstract)
