The study aimed at knowing the effect of using the directed-exploration method in the achievement of the second-year (intermediate stage) female students in biology. The sample of the research consists of (66) female students, (32) out of which are in the experimental group and (34) are in the control group. The researcher has matched the two groups, and the experimental design of the partial control has been used. The researcher has constructed an achievement test of which its validity and reliability has been verified. The test reliability is (0.81). The data has been analyzed statistically using t-test for tow – independent samples and Pearson correlation formula. The results indicated that the performance of students who have been taught by using directed - exploration method is better than those who have taught by using the traditional method. The researcher recommended using this method in teaching biology. (Published abstract)
