This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of Posner Scale in correcting the alternative perceptions for some mathematical problems at Intermediate Stage Students. The sample of the study consists of (60) students, who are registered in the course of "Growth of Mathematical Conceptions'. They were randomly divided into two groups; the first one studied with Posner scale, and the other one is control, and studied the same mathematical concepts with the traditional method. For achieving the aims of the study, two tools have been built; the first is a diagnostic test for the alternative concepts of the mathematical concepts in order to reveal the alternative mathematical perceptions with students intermediate stage, and the other is achievement test of mathematical concepts. The validity and reliability of this tool ensured. The results of applying the diagnostic test have appeared a group of mathematical concepts, which students have alternative perception (such as concepts of groups' theory, number, engineering concepts….) Also, the study revealed the excellence of the experimental group, who studied with the Posner's model over their peers who studied in the traditional method. (Published abstract)
