The study aims at identifying the effect of using a suggested strategy in training third intermediate female students on their ability to solve problems, their achievement, and their inference abilities. The sample of the study consists of (65) female students from Zamzam Intermediate School for Girls in Baghdad province/Risafa the first. The sample is divided into two groups: experimental group (33) female students and control group (32) female students. These two groups are equalized in intelligence, age, and previous achievement in mathematics. Two tests have been prepared by the researcher. The first is an achievement test with (25) items. Its validity and reliability have been insured. The reliability coefficient is (0.74). The second test in inference ability with deductive inductive aspects of (20) items and about (10) items for each field. Its validity has been insured. The reliability coefficient is (0.79). The results of the study indicate that: 1) there is a statistically significant difference at 0.05 level of significance between the mean score of the experimental group who are taught according to the suggested strategy to solve mathematical problems and the mean score of control group who are taught according to traditional method, in favor of the experimental group. 2) There is a statistically significant difference at 0.05 level of significance between the mean scores of the experimental group who are taught according to the suggested strategy to solve mathematical problems and the mean scores of the control group who are taught according to the traditional method in inference ability, in favor of the experimental group.
