هدفت هذه الدراسة للتعرف إلى تقييم برامج الدراسات العليا في جامعة الكويت في ضوء الاتجاهات المعاصرة من وجهة نظر الطلبة. تكونت الاستبانة من (27) فقرة موزعة على خمسة محاور (الأهداف، القبول، المحتوى، التدريس والتقويم، الإشراف العلمي والخدمات المساندة)، وتكونت عينة الدراسة من (122) من الطلبة في كلية الدراسات العليا في جامعة الكويت. أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن تقييم برامج الدراسات العليا في جامعة الكويت في ضوء الاتجاهات المعاصرة من وجهة نظر الطلبة جاءت بدرجة متوسطة، كما تبين وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى الدلالة (=0.05α) تعزى لمتغير المعدل التراكمي لمجال الأهداف والقبول والإشراف العلمي لصالح من كانت معدلاتهم (3.00 – 3.49)، وعن عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى الدلالة (=0.05α) تعزى لمتغير الجنس. أوصى الباحثان بتفعيل أساليب التدريس الحديث والتوسع في برامج الدراسات العليا وتطويرها. This study aimed at identifying the effectiveness of graduate programs at Kuwait University in the light of contemporary trends from the students' perspectives. The questionnaire consisted of (27) paragraphs, distributed on five dimensions (objectives, acceptance, content, teaching and evaluation, scientific supervision and support services). The sample of the study consisted of (122) students in the Faculty of Graduate Studies at Kuwait University. The results of the study showed that the effectiveness of graduate programs in Kuwait University in the light of contemporary trends from the students' perspectives was moderate. There were statistically significant differences at the level (α =0.05) that could be attributed to the accumulative average in the dimensions of objectives, acceptance and scientific supervision, and in favor of students with averages (3.00 - 3.49). The study also revealed the absence of statistically significant differences at the level (α = 0.05) attributed to the gender variable. The study recommended providing effective academic guidance to students and the need to expand and develop graduate programs. (Published abstract)
