هدفت الدراسة إلی التعرف على فاعلیة برنامج مقترح فی تنمیة مهارة رسم الخرائط والتفكیر البصری لدى طلاب الصف الأول الثانوی . وقد أعد الباحث برنامجا  فی مهارة رسم الخریطة والتفكیر البصری ، اختبار مهارة رسم الخرائط ( المعرفی – الأدائی ) واختبار فی التفكیر البصری . وقد تكونت مجموعة البحث من سبعة وثلاثین طالبًا من الصف الأول الثانوی بمحافظة أسیوط  طبق علیهم البرنامج المقترح واختباری مهارة رسم الخرائط والتفكیر البصری . وأشارت نتائج البحث إلى وجود فرق دال إحصائیا بین متوسطی درجات مجموعة البحث فی التطبیق القبلی/ البعدی فی اختبار مهارة رسم الخرائط  ( المعرفی  الادائی) واختبار التفكیر البصری لصالح الطلاب فی التطبیق البعدی ، كما دلت النتائج على تفوق مستوى مجموعة البحث فی مهارة رسم الخرائط والتفكیر البصری بعد دراسة البرنامج .وأوصى الباحث بضرورة الاهتمام بتنمیة مهارة رسم الخرائط والتفكیر البصری لدى طلاب المرحلة الثانویة .وإقامة وتجهیز معامل مدرسیة لرسم الخرائط وزیادة الاهتمام بأنشطة التفكیر البصری. This study aimed to identify the effectiveness of a proposed program for the development of the skill of mapping and visual thinking among students in first grade secondary stage. The researcher prepared a program in mapping skill and visual thinking, one test for the mapping skill (cognitive - per formative) and another test for visual thinking. The research group consisted of thirty-seven students from the first grade secondary stage. The proposed program and tests of the skill of mapping and visual thinking were applied to them. The results of the research indicated the existence of a statistically significant difference between the average scores of the research group in the pre / post application in the test of the mapping skill (cognitive, per formative) and in the test of visual thinking for the post application students. The results also indicated the superiority of the level of the research group in the skill of mapping and visual thinking after studying the program. The researcher recommended the importance of paying attention to developing the mapping skill and visual thinking for secondary school students, establishing and equipping school laboratories for mapping and increasing interest in the activities of visual thinking.
