استهدف البحث الحالي تقصي فاعلية خرائط التفكير في تنمية مهارات التفكير البصري وعادات العقل والتحصيل الأكاديمي في الكيمياء لدي طلاب الصف الأول الثانوي. ولتحقيق الهدف من البحث تم اختيار عينة عشوائية بلغت (87) طالباً من طلاب الصف الأول الثانوي الدارسين لمقرر الكيمياء، وتم تقسيمها عشوائياً إلي مجموعتين الأولي تجريبية(43 طالب) وتدرس المحتوي العلمي باستخدام خرائط التفكير، والثانية ضابطة (44 طالب) وتدرس نفس المحتوي بالطريقة المعتادة. وتمثلت أدوات البحث في اختبار مهارات التفكير البصري ومقياس عادات العقل واختبار التحصيل الأكاديمي. وتم تطبيق الأدوات الثلاث قبل وبعد المعالجات التدريسية، كما رصدت درجات الطلاب وتم معالجتها إحصائياً. وأسفرت نتائج البحث عن : وجود فرق دال إحصائياً (عند مستوي دلالة 0,05) بين متوسطي درجات طلاب المجموعتين التجريبية والضابطة في التطبيق البعدي لاختبار مهارات التفكير البصريوعادات العقل والتحصيل الأكاديمي، ولصالح طلاب المجموعة التجريبية. كما وجدت علاقة ارتباطية طردية موجبة دالة إحصائياً بين مهارات التفكير البصري وعادات العقل والتحصيل الأكاديمي. كما أظهرت قيم (h2 ) و( d) عن وجود تأثير ذو حجم كبير لخرائط التفكير في تنمية مهارات التفكير البصري وعادات العقل والتحصيل الأكاديمي في الكيمياء لدي طلاب الصف الأول الثانوي. The current research aimed at investigating the effectiveness of thinking maps on developing visual thinking skills, habits of mind and academic achievement in chemistry among first graders secondary Students, To achieve the objective of the research; the sample of research represented in (87) first graders secondary students; that was randomly divided into two groups: experimental group (43 students) learned the content of chemistry unite using thinking maps, but the second control group (44 students) learned the same chemistry content using a traditional method. And research tools identified in the visual thinking skills test, habits of mind scale and academic achievement in chemistry test. The research procedures adopted to follow pre and post administration of the research tools on the students of the two groups. The three tools were checked, data were collected and processed statistically using SPSS program. The results of research are as follows: There is a statistically Significant difference at the (0.05 level) of significance between the mean scores of students in the two groups (experimental and control) in the visual thinking skills, habits of mind and in the academic achievement in chemistry in favor of the experimental group students. There is a statistically significant positive correlation between visual thinking skills, habits of mind and the academic achievement for first graders secondary students. There is a statistically Significant impact for thinking maps on developing visual thinking skills, habits of mind, and on the academic achievement in chemistry among first graders secondary students; where the values of effect size (d) was high.
