يمثل التحاق الطلبة بالجامعة مرحلة جديدة في حياتهم تختلف عن المراحل الدراسية السابقة التي مر بها الطالب سابقا. ولا بد أن نذكر ان الطلبة من ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة بجامعة بغداد ليس بالعدد الكبير، ومع ذلك يهدف البحث إلي حماية حقوقهم وذلك بوضع تشريعات خاصة بالمعوقين، وظهر أن هؤلاء الطلبة متفوقون في كلياتهم أغلب الأحيان، ووصلت معدلات البعض منهم من 90 فأكثر وهناك تدرج في الدرجات وخاصة طلبة الدراسات العليا، أي أن العوق لم يكن حائلاً في تقدمهم العلمي، بل كان حافزاً لهم للتفوق، ومن أهم الاستنتاجات التي توصلت لها الباحثة ان جامعة بغداد لم يكن لها دور في رعاية ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة والاهتمام بهم مادياً وإجتماعياً ونفسياً وصحياً واقتصادياً، فهم بحاجة إلى الإلتفات عليهم ورعايتهم واقترح أن يتم ذلك بالتعاون بين الجامعة ووزارة التعليم العالي ووزارة الصحة والعمل والشؤون الاجتماعية ووزارة المالية ومنظمات المجتمع المدني لتوفير مستلزمات الطلبة من ذوي الإحتياجات الخاصة وتسهيل ظروفهم الإقتصادية والاجتماعية والصحية والعلمية وغيرها .(الملخص المنشور)

The enrollment of students in the university represents a new stage in their life that differ from the previous educational stages that student has previously established. It should be noted that students with special needs at the University of Baghdad are not large numbers. It appears that these students have an excel role in their colleges most often, that is, the handicap was not a barrier to their scientific progress, but rather an incentive for them to excel. The most important conclusion reached by the researcher is that the University of Baghdad had no role in caring for people with special needs and caring for them financially, socially, psychologically, healthily and economically, they need to pay attention to them and take care of them. He suggested this should be done in cooperation between the ministry of higher education, the ministry of health, labor, and social affairs, the ministry of finance and civil society organizations to provide students with special needs and facilitate their economic, social, health, scientific and other conditions.
