هدفت الدراسة الحالية إلى التعرف على الإطار المفاهيمي لدور الجامعة في خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة، والتعرف على الإطار المفاهيمي لروابط الخريجين، والتعرف على واقع تفعيل دور روابط الخريجين في تحقيق أهداف خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة بكليات جامعة المنصورة، والتعرف على متطلبات تفعيل دور روابط الخريجين في تحقيق أهداف خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة بكليات جامعة المنصورة. تحقيقا لأهداف الدراسة استخدمت الباحثة المنهج الوصفي، وتوصلت الدراسة إلى العديد من النتائج ، منها: يقصد بخدمة الجامعة للمجتمع هي مجموعة الأنشطة التي تقدمها الجامعة للمجتمع المحيط بهدف حل مشكلاته الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والبيئية وتطوير بيئته البشرية والمادية، كما تتمثل أهداف خدمة الجامعة للمجتمع في: توفير فرص التعليم المستمر مدى الحياة، الارتقاء بمستوى الوعي والثقافة المجتمعية، حل المشكلات المجتمعية والتنبؤ بها، تحقيق الارتباط ما بين قطاعات الإنتاج وكليات الجامعة، تشجيع ورعاية الأفكار الريادية، التنمية المهنية للخريجين، الحفاظ على البيئة المجتمعية وحل مشكلاتها، تقديم الاستشارات العلمية لكافة جهات الدولة، التنبؤ باحتياجات سوق العمل من الكوادر البشرية المؤهلة، تحقيق التكيف الاجتماعي بين الفرد ومجتمعه، نشر العلم والمعرفة في المجتمع المحلي، تطوير اقتصاد المجتمع، ومن مجالات خدمة الجامعة للمجتمع: مجال القيادة الفكرية، مجال الخدمات النموذجية، مجال توعية وتثقيف أبناء المجتمع، مجال التدريب والتعليم المستمر، مجال البحوث التطبيقية والاستشارات، مجال الاستشارات الفنية، مجال الاستقراء لقضايا المجتمع، مجال المرافق والتسهيلات الجامعية، مجال الأنشطة والبرامج التجارية وغير التجارية، ومن التحديات التي تواجه خدمة الجامعة للمجتمع: ظاهرة تفجر المعرفة، تحديات العولمة، عدم توافق مخرجات الجامعة مع متطلبات سوق العمل، تعرض البيئة للتلوث، ضعف العلاقة بين التعليم العالي والتنمية، انتشار الأفكار الديمقراطية، سيطرة سياسة الدولة على سياسة الجامعة، كما تهدف روابط الخريجين الجامعية إلى متابعة أوضاع خريجي الجامعات، تزويد الخريجين بكل ما هو جديد في مجالاتهم، الإسهام في تأمين فرص عمل للخريجين تتناسب مع تخصصاتهم وميولهم، الارتقاء بمستوى البرامج التعليمية للطلاب، إقامة برامج ودورات تدريبية للخريجين، الربط بين التعليم وسوق العمل بالمهن المختلفة، إكساب الخريجين مهارات استخدام الحاسوب، المساعدة في تأمين فرص عمل للخريجين، عمل برامج للخريجين يقوم بها أشخاص لتحسين معارفهم ومهارتهم وكفاءتهم في مجال معين، ويمكن لروابط الخريجين أن تحقق أهداف خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة من خلال: التواصل مع الخريجين من خلال عقد لقاءات تكريمية وتواصلية معهم، تنمية مهارات الخريجين في كافة المجالات المهنية، إكساب الخريجين المهارات والخبرات النظرية والعلمية، عقد ندوات ولقاءات مكثفة مع كبريات الشركات الخاصة، وتقسيم دورات تدريبية مجانية لتأهيلهم لسوق العمل، الإسهام في تأمين فرص عمل للخريجين تتناسب مع تخصصاتهم وميولهم، عقد الحلقات والندوات والمؤتمرات العلمية للخريجين، تعزيز التنسيق والتفاعل بين المؤسسات الموجهة لسوق العمل، وضع برامج التدريب والتأهيل المناسبة للخريجين.
