Children’s literature received a lot of attention in the last 10 years in all aspects whether academically, artistically in literary. This is shown by the increase in the releases specialized in children’s literature and the increase in interactive and academic forums as well as the increase in cultural activities related to the children. However, the studies and reviews which document this type of increase are still very few and that is because it’s rare to find specialized books in the Omani library which talk about the Omani experience in children’s literature whether in the history or documentation factor or in the critical studies. This study aimed to answer one primary point which is: what are the major features of children’s literature in Oman? By documenting certain data in a number of factors. These factors are: documenting whatever is related to children’s literature in Oman, creating the major characteristics in this field and its timeline since its formation till today, documenting the literary arts in writing for children and the authors by gender (male, female) as well as a summary of children’s literature authors in Sultanate of Oman. In addition, the study would provide a diverse bibliography in four annexes: first annex is a bibliography of children’s literature authors in Oman and their main publications. This is the first bibliography that shows interest in accounting for the printed publications of Omani authors in children’s literature. This bibliography will include the names of the authors, year of publication, publisher, the names of the artists, and the group that the book is written for. The second annex is a bibliography of the magazines and press releases addressed to children. The third annex is a bibliography of the conferences and the seminars related to the children’s education and the fourth annexure is a bibliography of the studies conducted regarding Omani children’s literature. The importance of the data that will be provided by this study is that it will encourage other studies to be conducted in the future and will encourage the researchers in Oman to establish a database which can be improved and developed continuously, therefore, the interest in children’s education is expected to double in the upcoming years.
