هدفت الدراسة الحالية تعرف أثر استخدام استراتيجية الاستقصاء في تدريس الأحياء في تنمية التفكير الناقد والدافعية نحو التعلم لدى عينة من طلاب الصف التاسع الأساسي في مدينة عمان. تكونت عينة الدراسة من (50) طالباً تم أداتين: اختبار للتفكير الناقد، ومقياس لمدافعية نحو التعلم. وأشارت نتائج الدراسة إلى وجود فرق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين متوسطي أداء مجموعتي الدراسة على اختيارهم قصدياً وتمّ توزيعيم عشوائياً في مجموعتي الدراسة: (25) طالباً في المجموعة التجريبية، و(25) طالباً في المجموعة الضابطة. واستخدمت الدراسة التطبيق البعدي لاختبار التفكير الناقد ومقياس الدافعية نحو التعلم. وفي ضوء النتائج، أوصى الباحث بضرورة التأكيد على استخدام استراتيجية الاستقصاء، من قبل معلمي الأحياء وتضمين كتب العلوم الحياتية أنشطة تراعي التفكير الناقد. The present study aimed at identify the effect of using the enquiry strategy in teaching biology on development of the critical thinking and motivation towards learning amongst a sample of ninth grade students in Amman. The sample of the study was chosen by the intentional method of (50) students, which was divided into two groups, the experimental (25) students, and the control (25) students. The study used two tools, a test of critical thinking, and a measure of motivation towards learning. The results of the study revealed that there are statistically significant differences between the means of the two study groups on the post-application of the critical thinking test and the motivation measure towards learning in favor of the experimental group. In the light of the results, the researcher recommended the need to emphasize the use of the survey strategy, by the biology teachers and include the books of life sciences activities that reflect critical thanking.
